The Claydon System THE LEADING TINE DRILL Ground breaking tine The leading tines can be adjusted to stimulate to the required rooting depth of between 0 for low disturbance and 15cm (6 inches) for deep rooting crops like OSR. The second tine can be adjusted via the depth wheels to put the seed in as shallow or deep as necessary. System-detail1 Centrally mounted depth wheels give very accurate seed placement as they run on undisturbed soil between the rows and do not run over or cap the seeded area. System-detail2 Stone protected leading tines break through the ground lifting and aerating it whilst creating a drainage tract and space for the roots to grow deep and strong with ease. System-detail3 Solid sprung seeding tines keep a highly accurate and constant seed depth, flowing through the soil lifted by the leading tines and cultivating it whilst only moving for a large stone. System-detail4 Levelling boards and tines leave a superbly level finish covering the seedlings in a perfect soil plant pot with drainage and space for root development. Strip Cultivate, apply fertiliser, seed and starter fertiliser in one pass TARGETED FERTILISER Better crop establishment, improved plant nutrition, targeted placement and reduced inputs are all factors that are driving farmers back to combination seed and fertiliser drilling. Claydon drills are the ideal machines to take advantage of targeted fertiliser placement within the seeding and/or rooting zone ensuring that fertiliser is exactly where the plant needs it. This avoids fertiliser being wasted on the 50% of ground that is not disturbed, ensuring that nutrients are available to the young seedling and not to weeds or volunteers, providing better utilisation and a potential fertiliser cost saving. Fertiliser mixed with seed The Claydon team have developed technology which allows placement of granular, liquid, and/or micro-granular fertiliser directly to the seeded strip and/or rooting zones. All Claydon fertiliser options are available on new drills but can also be retro-fitted to existing Hybrid drills. Seed only Fertiliser placement Fertiliser placement2
